 IN A NUTSHELL:

Intiva Health unveiled new features to its Ready Doc™ medical provider credentialing platform, which will be available at no cost for a limited time to help alleviate health care facilities that are overwhelmed during the coronavirus pandemic.

The new features further the mission of the Ready Doc™ platform to offer an all-in-one solution in which medical professionals can complete credentialing and compliance requirements. The features strengthen compliance risk mitigation and expedite the credentialing and enrollment process.

FEATURES

Enrollment: For health care organizations of any size that must enroll medical providers for insurance reimbursement, the Ready Doc™ Apply feature streamlines and accelerates the process by automatically inserting provider data into a digital application. Providers fill out applications on their favorite device. Ready Doc™ packages the completed documents and the application can be finalized with a digital signature and shared with a payor or any entity requiring the completed application.

Compliance: If you’re out of compliance, your financial well-being, credibility, and operations are at risk. The Ready Doc™ Comply feature helps administrators monitor their facilities and providers to ensure adherence to required policies.

Management: When you’re credentialing one provider or thousands, there are a lot of tasks to keep track of. Ready Doc™ Tasks gives you a way to create and track your credentialing to-do list in the same space where you manage providers and credentials.

Ready Doc™ Messaging: An easy-to-use messaging app for smartphones or workstations that helps health care organizations improve care team communications and collaboration while achieving HIPAA-compliance.

Messaging feature set:

  • Secure Messaging: Messages are kept private with a fully encrypted, end-to-end, secure communication solution
  • Priority Messaging: High priority messages stay at the top of the recipient’s inbox and specify a unique alert for instant differentiation
  • Message Forward: Messages can be automatically forwarded to other colleagues.
  • Custom Groups: Customized forum discussions can be created for open and ongoing dialogue between colleagues and specific topics
  • Delivery Confirmation: Notifications are delivered instantly when messages have been sent, delivered, and read
  • Message Recall: Messages and attachments can be canceled before or after they have been read
  • Secure Attachments: Securely attach and share instantly any type of media

In addition to supplies for health care facilities, maintaining the administrative workflow during a pandemic is vital.  Allocating resources during an increase in demand is critical to keeping operations running for patients. This can be very time-intensive for health care workers and create a tremendous administrative burden.

Some of the critical responsibilities of health care administration during a crisis such as a pandemic include human resources management, maintenance functions of the organization, serving as intermediaries for the various professional groups practicing within the facility, and credentialing—the last of which is vital to complete swiftly in times of greater need. However, with traditional methods credentialing, this is not a quick or easy procedure. Both physicians and facility staff spend a combined 20+ hours per week submitting and verifying credentialing documents.

The volume of patients, applications, and spending that is processed under normal circumstances establishes the necessity for a platform such as Ready Doc™ that expedites the process and reduces the risk of incorrect information.

According to the CDC, there have been more than 40,000 cases and 500 deaths related to the coronavirus across all 50 states and four territories. The number of cases, along with hospitalizations related to the pandemic, is only expected to increase. The volume of patients, applications, and spending that is processed daily under normal circumstances establishes the necessity for a platform such as Ready Doc™ that expedites the process and reduces the risk of incorrect information. Under the current extreme circumstances due to the coronavirus outbreak, where hospitals have reached or are nearing capacity, this need for greater efficiency becomes crucial.

Other common industry practices, such as the use of short messaging services (SMS) or personal electronic devices to transmit protected health information (PHI), opens the door for lapses in HIPAA compliance resulting in enormous monetary penalties for health care systems, which can range anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 per violation—with an annual maximum of $1.5 million. Ready Doc™ Messaging helps to reduce the risk of fines and non-compliance.

Earlier in March, Intiva Health added a feature to Ready Doc™ that allows health care providers to track the number of confirmed coronavirus cases as well as their location across the world.

In addition to its Coronavirus Tracking Map, Intiva Health also offers an ACCME-accredited course on the Ready Doc™ platform: Identification and Containment of the Coronavirus: COVID-19. Both of these resources are aimed at assisting physicians and health care providers to be able to follow the suggestions from health authorities to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

At Intiva Health, we pride ourselves on being able to create efficiencies within health care that would be otherwise “unattainable.” That’s why we are offering our Ready Doc™ credentialing platform for free. We believe that health care dollars should be directed toward patient care, not administrative burdens. We are doing our part to make sure hospitals are able to use their funds for patients, their care, and their caregivers.
